Our Mission...
With the total support of family and church, the desired outcome of the instruction given at Evangel Heights Christian Academy is to equip every student to reach their full potential for Jesus Christ. Our objective is to educate students in the knowledge of the Bible, that they may know Christ, understand God's purpose and power in their lives, recognize and utilize their God-given talents, and to prepare them for this life and the life to come. Thus, the focus of Evangel Heights Christian Academy is to provide a quality education with a distinctly Christian worldview, that is academically challenging and culturally relevant.
What is the history of Evangel Heights Christian Academy?
Sonshine Preschool was organized in 1987. Then in 1991 we formed Evangel Heights Christian Academy with our first Kindergarten class. Since then we have added a grade each year, and since the 2002/2003 school year we have approximately 50 students in our preschool and over 250 in grades K-12.
How does a student enroll?
EHCA admits students of every race,color, and national or ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded to or made available to students at the school, It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, and national or ethnic origin in the administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, and athletic or other school administered programs. It is recommended that you first call the school
(724-295-9199) to see if there is an opening in the grade(s) desired. Enrollment does not open to the public until March for the following school year, but it wise to have your name put on a waiting list as soon as possible to increase your chances. It is also wise to schedule an appointment to tour our facilities. This is a good time to have a family interview and take the enrollment/placement test so that all will be informed and prepared when it is time to register. There is a registration fee which is due at the time of enrollment.
What grades are offered?
Morning and afternoon pre-school is offered on Monday, Wednesday and Friday and is recommended for 4 and 5 year olds. Tuesday and Thursday classes are available in the a.m. and p.m. and recommended for 3 and 4 year olds. Morning Kindergarten is offered five days a week. Students must pass a placement test before entering Kindergarten. Grades 1 through 12 are offered at this time, but we only have openings in a few classes. You must be 6 years old by September 1st to enter first grade.
